Mad River Glen has just under five miles of snowshoe trails on the mountain. These trails connect with Vermont’s famed Long Trail. It also offers snowshoe naturalist programs. Snowshoe treks are available from the summit of Sugarbush’s Mount Ellen to Lincoln Peak. Free, guided treks begin at the base of Lincoln Peak. Or arrange treks through Vermont Pack & Paddle and Clearwater Sports. Snowshoers who want to strike out on their own can take advantage of a variety of backcountry trails in the region; a trail map is available from the Sugarbush Chamber of Commerce.

The Mad River Valley has Alpine skiing at Sugarbush Resort and Mad River Glen (no snowboarders allowed). The towns of Warren and Waitsfield have restaurants and shopping and all the services and amenities that are expected in a ski town.
