The Breckenridge Nordic Ski Center, located just outside of the Victorian Town of Breckenridge on Grandview Drive off Ski Hill Road on the way up to Peak 8 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, has 30 km of trails groomed for classic track & freestyle skate skiing for all abilities. There are also 18 km of scenic nature trails for snowshoeing amidst beautiful spruce forests and spectacular views.
The “Oh, Be Joyful” Nordic Log Lodge has Nordic ski & snowshoe equipment rentals, wax, repair & retail shop, Tavern Bar & food/snacks. A cozy lodge with fireplace, Happy Hour live music, Josie's Cabin, Hallelujah Hut, and Kathy’s Viewpoint are destination historic huts along the trails. The New Nordic World on Peak 7 offers 6,000 acres of trails with views of the Continental Divide and Ten Mile Range. The Hallelujah Hut, formerly The Retort Mining House, is open and heated with a propane stove and about 6 km up South Barton Creek. Kathy's Viewpoint is a tiny warming hut with sauna. It is about 7.5 km from the Log Lodge. These huts can also be accessed further up Ski Hill Road at the White River National Forest trailhead parking, within a one mile ski or snowshoe mapped and marked trail that is groomed three times weekly and after snowstorms.
Oh, Be Joyful Lodge
Day Trail Passes (13-64 yrs of age) are $27 and it is $70 for a multiple day 3 punch pass. Seniors 65 and up $22, 3 day lunch pass is $55.00. Children 12 and under ski for free. Passes also are valid at the nearby XC ski areas Frisco Nordic and the Gold Run Nordic.
Day Equipment Ski & Snowshoe Rentals (18-64 yrs of age) for XC ski or snowshoe gear $23. Aged 13-17 - $18 per day and $12 for Children 12 and under, $45 for Backcountry and $30 for Performance Skate gear, and Child pulk sleds $23 for 1-3 hours are available. Special adaptive gear is available.
Breckenridge Nordic has everything a skier needs to get started. The “Try Before You Buy” offer will deduct the cost of a day rental/demo when equipment package is purchased.
A Nordic Group Ski Lesson is $70 or $120 for a Private Lesson for one person and each additional person is $75. The Guided Group Snowshoe Tour, for 13 and older, includes interpretive info on biology, history, and geography with a snack with a hot cocoa for $75 per person. Private Guided Snowshoe Tours, may include younger children (12 and under are free with each paying adult) and cost $120 for the 1st person, and $75 for each additional person. Trail Passes are included for no extra fee with each Lesson or Guided Snowshoe Adventure Tour.
The Free Ski & Ride shuttle to the Breckenridge Nordic Center from town or the downhill ski resort. The BNC is only 3/4 up Ski Hill Road, past the Shock Hill Bridge turn right at the third driveway onto Grandview Drive. CCSSA member.
Private 90-minute Snowcat tour for spectacular views, guided history, and unique ecology of the trails and preserve
The Breckenridge Nordic Snowcat Tour is 90 minutes for private parties in a heated all-glass snowcat cabin to experience spectacular views, history and unique ecology with a guide of the trails and the preserve to experience the Legend forests on a trip to a destination hut stop for s’mores and hot cocoa. The Breckenridge Nordic Snowcat Tours are unique in the XC ski resort community and the outing starts at $700 for up to 8 people.
There's a free Ski & Ride to Breckenridge Nordic Center from town or the alpine ski resort. The center is only a half mile up Ski Hill Road, past the Shock Hill Bridge and the second driveway on the right. CCSSA member.
