Vista Verde Ranch is a 4 diamond ranch in a secluded area outside of Steamboat Springs offering all-inclusive vacation packages including classic and skate skiing on groomed ranch trails and daily guided backcountry tours.
Lessons and rental equipment for xc ski, snowshoe and backcountry touring are included in the pricing, as are activity choices such as sleigh rides, tubing, horsemanship clinics, ice fishing, yoga, and wine tasting. Vista Verde's groomed trail system is especially good for beginners—most of the terrain is quite gentle. Guides head out on backcountry tours daily on the thousands of acres of national forest surrounding the Vista Verde Ranch.

Backcountry tours are tailored to individual guest’s abilities and interests and are usually a maximum of 4-5 people per tour (and sometimes one-on-one). The backcountry tours are adventurous but safe and within skiers’ limits. This is a very personalized service.
The Vista Verde vacation is suited for those looking to have a unique cross country ski vacation that gives many options for a variety of activities throughout the day as well as decadent dining and luxury lodging. Each evening a VVR staff will find you during Happy Hour to make plans for the next day and then the guides and wranglers will customize the experience to meet your fitness and skill level in all activities.
Recommended favorite trails include the Indian Meadows Loop for beginning skaters, which is pretty flat, very quiet and has beautiful scenery while the Willows Loop takes skiers past the historic Homestead Cabin.
Sleigh rides at Vista Verde Ranch
Rates at Vista Verde are packaged to include 3 gourmet meals each day and all the on-ranch activities (everything mentioned above plus cooking classes, wine tasting, kids and teen programs, ice fishing, fat biking, evening entertainment, local transportation, etc.) The prices range from $685/night/person to $1,000 depending on length of stay and time of year. Deduct $100 for children aged 6-13.
Vista Verde Great Room
There is a hot tub on the deck of each cabin. With gourmet meals and luxurious accommodations, Vista Verde is in high demand, whether you stay in the cabins or the more convenient lodge. The number of guests is limited to about 30 people to insure personalized attention from the staff and full enjoyment of the ranch.
